brushed stock motors heated up very fast. The twin brusless motors stay warm to the touch even after flying. So effectively, you can fly all day just by swapping the LIPO Battery out of the new LIPO tray. We have also supercharged the heli using an 11.1 Volt 800Mah 20c LIPO which can effectively only be used with a brushless motor system without risk of the Rx being damaged. The added use of the 11.1 volt LIPO will super charge the heli. What's required for the conversion ?
signal converter. So basically you will need three items to complete a brushless motor system. You need a pair of brushless motors with the correct pinions. We install the proper pinions so the motors are ready to mount. You need two proper electronic speed controller (ESC). We use only programmable ESC's as they can be tailored to your brushless motor for optimal performance. We use a dual brushless signal converter which limits the overall heli weight. You will also need to connect the brush motor and electronic speed controller connected properly. We have also tested a competitor brand that comes pre-wired for the E-Sky LAMA4 & LAMA3. The problem with that unit is that it doesn't come with any pinions, the shaft of the two brushless motors are too short for any co-axial heli and the two brushless motors are really weak. The two ESC's in general do not work well. They are also not programmable. There are also no instructions. So, don't waste your money because we already did.

Here is the video of a wicked short flight using the modified twin brushless motors. The video will show how fast this bird can accelerate up and climb. You can hear the brushless motors just purr with the more power than a pair of 370 carbon brushed motors. The brushless motors system was tested using a 7.4 volt 900 Mah 15c LIPO, however using an 11.1 volt 500 20c LIPO (5-7 minutes on average) or the extended 11.1 volt 800Mah 20c LIPO (7-10 minutes on average) is recommended. |
