1. First, remove all the items from the kit
2. You will need a small phillips screwdriver
(not shown) and a Metric Hex screwdriver
Set.
3. Remove MAIN Carbon Brushed Super
Motor and heat sink. Disconnect power
connector and unscrew the two screws that
mount the stock motor. Place spare parts in
a safe place as you will no longer need them.
4. Install the Main Brushless Motor. Make
sure the meshing between the main
brushless motor and main gear are not too
TIGHT or too LOOSE. Too tight will cause
the ESC to heat up and in some cases melt.
Proper meshing is when you can freely spin
the top rotor with your fingers. If the rotor
cannot spin at least one whole rotation after
spinning then your meshing is probably too
TIGHT. Re-adjust the motor mount screws
to make the meshing looser.
5. Don't pull out any of the connections on
the Rx except for Channel 3 (Throttle) - For
easier viewing, we took out the servo
wires) . On the RX, gently pull the servo
plug wire on Channel 3 (Throttle). This wire
will now connect into one side of the "Y"
Connector. The other side of the "Y"
Connector is already connected to the ESC
of the brushless Kit. Connect the male end
of the "Y" Connector in Port 3 of the Rx.
Make sure that the BLACK wire (Tri-Color
connector wire) is on the same side as all of
the other servos connectors.
6. You are done connecting the Main
brushless motor. Use the nylon ties to start
to wrap the wires carefully around the Skids.
7. This is how it should look like after tie
wrapping.
8. (OPTIONAL) Next, let's install the 3 Amp
(Purple) fuse. Connect between the Tail
motor Input on the Rx as shown in the
picture.
9. (OPTIONAL) Make sure you have the
black wire on TOP followed by the RED wire.
You are done with the fuse installation. If
the fuse blows, just replace with another
one.
10. Finally, there are two connectors left to
connect from the Main bushless motor kit.
One is labelled "Connect to LIPO Battery"
and the other is labelled "Connect to RX
Power Input".
Connect the label "Connect to RX Power
Input" to the RX Male JST connector.
Connect the label "Connect to LIPO Battery"
when you are ready to power up the
helicopter.
11. Start up the heli and bind with the Tx.
You will hear one beep followed by three
beeps and then one beep. You may hear
the heli beep and then beep and then beep.
That means that the brushless main motor
ESC is not binded properly. Tuirn off the TX
and then turn on again until you have the
three beeps and then one final beep.
Check by holding the helicopter at the tail
boom and throttling up slightly.
12. Re-adjust the heli for the Center of
Gravity (CG) as the CG is different from the
stock motor weight. If the heli CG is tail
heavy re-adjust the servo arms for more FF
Flight. Adding Super Skids 200 should also
help add more weight to the Front for CG as
well as the 11.1 volt 800Mah LIPO Mod.
Congratulations ! - You are done and ready
to fly.
