Why convert to a brushless motor system ?

he motors are lighter and more efficient th

n a regular carbon brushed motor. The carbon brushed

motors heat up during flight and heat sinks

are required. You also have to wait until the motor cools

down before flying again otherwise risk the longevity of the carbon brushed motor.

Brushless motors

run cool to the to the touch. No more heat sink heats

Because the brushless motor are governed by an ESC, there is less strain on the Rx, reducing RF

noise and glitches.

required between the main motor and Rx

since the ESC will bear the brunt of the

backlash. The MOSFET circuit in the ESC

should be able to handle most crashes without possible

burnout to your RX

However, you

still need an

ATO 3 Amp Fast blow fuse

for the tail

motor since the

tail motor is still carbon brushed.

lasts on average about 150 flights

using an

11.1 volt LIPO

battery

before burnout. A brushless

motors has

no brushs to wear out. Hence a virtual long life span

Which

means you

can fly all day as long as you keep on

changing the LIPO battery.

Finally, the brushless motor looks cooler as they are CNC machined made to precision

We have spen

alot of time testing various brushless motors. Too strong of a motor will cause

spinning and too weak will not give you the

proper

lift. We needed to find a brushless motor that

would

give the same characteristics as a regular

370 carbon brushed motor

but slightly stronger to

accomodate the extra weight from the ESC and metal upgrades on the heli.

What's required for the conversion ?

First, it is necessary to have the fuse mod installed for the carbon brushed tail motor as it can still

burnout the MOSFET in your Rx on a severe

crash. The main brushless motor is governed by the

ESC, so you will not need a fuse mod

for the main motor

as the ESC will burnout if you have

a severe

crash thus

protecting the Rx.

However you will still need a fuse mod for the tail motor.

Also, no more

heat sinks are required as the

motor is air cooled when it spools up.

Next, while the system can work

using a 7.4 volt LIPO, we highly recommend the

11.1 volt 1,000 Mah

LIPO battery

. It is the optimal

battery for providing the necessary power to the brushless motor

and ESC. It will also provide a good

counter

balance

weight for the CG of the heli.

While most

systems just require a

brushless motor and

an electronic speed controller

(ESC)

. The

Integrated four

in one receivers

require a special signal

converter. So basically you will need

three

items to complete

a brushless

motor system.

You need a

brushless motor with the

correct pinion, the

proper electronic

speed

controller (ESC), and the special

signal converter.

You will also

need to

connect the brush

less

motor and

program the

electronic speed

controller properly.
