However, the main problem remains that the stock tail motor is gear driven which slows the rudder control of the tail section of the helicopter. What we did was improved the helicopter by removing the stock tail motor and related gears and replaced it with a Direct Drive (DD) Tail motor. No more gear reduction and better performance on the Rudder section giving superior tail control necessary for high speed turns and spins. We didn't stop there -- we also upgraded the plastic rotor head system with a CNC metal kit and added the Super Skids Titanium Tail boom which is extremely light and strong as well as good looking. We then added a tail motor heat sink. Finally, we added an ON/OFF power switch which is really convenient.
