designed well except for the tail motor which is shaft gear driven. We are not sure why Walkera did this as opposed to mounting a regular tail motor at the end. In any case, the major drawback remains the carbon brushed tail motor nested in the middle of the heli. What a pain to remove let alone the longevity of the motor. After about 3 dozen full flights on average you have to buy a new one at about $8.00(USD) a pop. OUCH !!! over a couple of months, this heli can get expensive. The tail blade also breaks very easy and the gear reduction doesn't give you great rudder power which is needed for fast turns and high speed manuvers. DIRECT DRIVE (DD) CARBON BRUSHED TAIL MOTOR KIT FOR WALKERA CB180D / EXCEEED MADHAWK 300 (2.4 GHZ Version): An impressive electric helicopter that flies like a typical co-axial but is a single rotor 4-channel heli. Almost everything on the new Walkera CB180D is designed well except for the tail motor which is shaft gear driven. We have changed the tail rotor system to a Direct Drive (DD) tail rotor system for better Rudder control. We also replaced the rotor blades with a stronger two blade propeller.
