Convert your 2.4 GHz Walkera CB180D / CB180Z/ Exceed Madhawk 300 4-Channel Fixed Pitched Electric Helicopter to a Totally Brushless Motor System |
designed well except for the tail motor which is shaft gear driven. We are not sure why Walkera did this as opposed to mounting a regular tail motor at the end. In any case, the major drawback remains the carbon brushed tail motor nested in the middle of the heli. What a pain to remove let alone the longevity of the motor. After about 3 dozen full flights on average you have to buy a new one at about $8.00(USD) a pop. OUCH !!! over a couple of months, this heli can get expensive.
avoids all of these problems. A direct drive system also gives more power to the Rudder offering subperb control necessary for high speed turns and spins. We decided to change that with a Totally Brushless Motor system. A brushless main motor with high RPM levels for fast acceleration up and a brushless tail motor acting as a direct drive (DD) system. A direct drive (DD) system gives more power to the rudder than traditional gear reduction systems offering superior handling for high speed turns and spinning. The other benefits of having a brushless system is that the motors are very efficient. They last a very long time as compared to traditional carbon brushed motors. No more heat sinks as these motors stay cool to the touch. This means no more waiting for the motors to cool off before flying again. Because they are also driven by the ESC, there is no need for ATO Fast blow mini blade fuses anymore. This kit is also easy to install as there is NO SOLDERING required. This Totally Brushless Kit is also a great alternative to the 2.4 GHz Walkera CB180Z which uses plastic gears that wear out quickly when driving the tail rotor. On the Totally Brushless Kit, there are no plastic gears to replace as the tail is driven by a brushless tail motor that is Direct Drive (DD). Add on Super Skids 200, Extended Blades, and the ON/OFF pushbutton Power switch for added convenience. This makes this a "Blinged Out" 4-channel Fixed Pitched (FP) Helicopter and a great alternative to the 2.4 Ghz Walkera CB180Z which currently has tail gear stripping problems.
