Why Convert to a Direct Drive (DD) Brushless Tail Motor System ? Used in conjunction with the Brushless Main Motor Mod, the Direct Drive (DD) Brushless Tail motor avoids all of the problems with the stock tail motor. The typical stock carbon brushed tail motor lasts for about 5-6 dozen full flights before failing and can strip the plastic gear. Over time, the tail motor replacement can be costly. Well worth the cost, as the Direct Drive (DD) Brushless Tail motor lasts virtually forever as there are NO Brushes to wear out. Additionally, the tail motor uses gear reduction which causes power loss to the Rudder Control and the gear teeth eventually wears out causing additional power loss to the Rudder. The Direct Drive (DD) Brushless Tail motor uses no gears and offers full power giving Superior Rudder Control. This is necessary for high speed turns, spins, and dives. The brushless tail motor should last virtually forever as there are no brushes to wear out unlike the traditional carbon brushed motor. Compared to belts drive tail systems and gear shaft tail systems, the Direct Drive (DD) Brushless tail motor simplistic yet very powerful. Tail hold is just as strong as belt drive and tail gear shaft systems as it is Direct Drive (DD). There is no tail servo or complicated tail rotor assembly to repair or calibrate anymore. No gears to strip as there are no gears. No belts to worry about worn out teeth slippage and tail centering problems. As a result, it is very easy to repair after a crash.
