1. First, you will need a small phillips
screwdriver (not shown) and a set of 1.5mm -
3.0mm Hex screwdrivers. This kit requires NO
SOLDERING.
2. Let's remove the Canopy, disconnect and
remove the LIPO Battery, and disconnect all
connections into the old Rx including the servo
connections. Gently remove the old Rx from the
airframe. Place in a safe place as you won't
need it anymore
3. Now, let's remove the stock 370 carbon
brushed Main Motor. First disconnect the main
motor power from the Rx if you haven't already.
Then open the battery tray bottom. Using a
phillps screw drive and remove the two motor
mount screws that connect the motor.
4. Remove the Tail Struts by unscrewing the
screws that hold at the base of the airframe.
Then remove the set screw holding the airframe
to the tail boom and the other set screw holding
the tail rotor assembly to the tail boom.
5. Gently, remove tail boom from airframe.
6. Gently pull out gear shaft by pulling from stem
end point. Twist and turn while gently pulling
out.
7. Next, remove the shaft gear tail motor. There
are two small screws that hold the motor via the
motor heat sink. Disconnect power wires from
from Rx and remove the gear shaft tail motor
8. Place tail gear shaft motor in a safe place as
you will not be using this motor.
9. Okay, let's install the totally brushless kit.
Remove the kit from the bubble bag.
10. Unplug the tail brushless motor from the kit
by carefully removing the three bullet
connectors that connect the Tail ESC and the
long tail motor wires (Three tri-color wires (Red,
Black, and White). (If the motor spins the wrong
way, just swap any of the three wires into
another connector plug)
11. Carefully insert the tri-color tail brushless
wires into the tail airframe. (If the motor spins
the wrong way, just swap any of the three wires
into another connector plug)
12. Next, we will be inserting the tri-color wire
thru the tail boom.
13. Secure the airframe side of the tail boom
then insert the tail frame into the end tail boom
and line up perpindicular to the ground.
Drill using 1/16" or equavalent metric drill bit
and secure using the two sets screws included
in the kit.
After piping the tri-color brushless tail motor
wires into airframe and secure with the last set
screw for the tail boom into the airframe. Attach
the tail struts back into airframe. Reconnect the
tri-color wire to the ESC. There is no particular
order in reconnecting the three wires. If at
startup, the motor spins the WRONG way, just
take any two of the brushless wires and swap
and reconnect to the ESC. Do this with the
power OFF. Next, screw in the tail rotor prop
into brushless tail motor shaft. The Brushless
Tail motor is now ready.
14. Next, let's connect the brushless main
motor. In order to secure, you will need to cut
off part of the battery frame. The motor shaft
will not fit without cutting off part of the frame.
After cutting the airframe. Screw in the
brushless motor. Make sure the pinion meshs
well with the main gear.
15. The servo will be a close fit, but should fit
perfectly. Make sure that the rotor spins freely.
Check by using your hand and spinning the
rotor head.
16. The main brushless motor should look like
this after installing.
17. Next, mount the Rx using the included velcro
to the front airframe of the heli. The Rx
must be mounted FLAT to the ground
position otherwise the tail motor will
spin the helicopter out of control. Let's
re-connect the servo wires. The top port of the
Rx connects with the front servo. The second
port from the top of the Rx connects with the
servo in the back of the heli.
18. With the RX facing you, make sure you plug
the servo connectors (White, Red, and Black)
from the top. The ELEV and AILE should also
match WHITE, RED, and BLACK)
19. Now, let's connect the brushless "TAIL MTR"
and connect the signal wire (WHITE and RED
wire) labelled "RUDD" and connect to on the RX
labelled RUDD.
Do the same with the "MAIN MTR" to the Rx.
Connect the signal connector (WHITE, RED,
BLACK wire) labelled "THRO" and connect to on
the RX labelled THRO.
20. Secure the Wires by wrapping around one
side of the landing gear using the included
nylon ties.
21. Finally, start up the heli and bind with the Tx.
Adjust the TRIM TAB for the RUDDER by moving
it almost all the way to the RIGHT. Adjust the heli
for the Center of Gravity (CG). If the heli CG is
tail heavy re-adjust the servo arms for more FF
Flight.
Adding Super Skids 200 should also help add
more weight to the Front for CG as well as the
7.4 volt 500Mah LIPO Mod. You can cut the front
of the battery holder and slide the LIPO Battery
slightly forward to adjust for the center of
gravity.
22. Using the WK-2402 or WK-2403 TX, get into
programming mode (PRESS ENT BUTTON) and
input the following:
ELEV = REV
AILE = NOR
THRO = NOR
RUDD = NOR
AUX = OFF
BUZZ = ON
Check to make sure the servo movements
match on the stick of the TX. Check and make
sure the tail motor spins in the proper direction
as well as the brushless main motor. If not, just
reverse any two of the three brushless main
motor wires that connect to the respective ESC.
Do this with the power OFF.
Congratulations ! - You are done and ready to fly.
